A visitor walks up and simply asks — what was it like, why did you do it — and the exchange goes wherever their curiosity leads, into the parts a wall of text never reaches.
More than one voice
History was an argument, so an exhibit shouldn't be a monologue. Put more than one figure in the room and let visitors watch them disagree about the same moment.
True to the record
Every figure is built from what they actually said and did. When the record falls silent, the figure says so — because getting a person right is the whole point.
